We didn't really partake in any activities since we went to the concert 3 out of the 4 nights we stayed. Our room was not restocked after the first day either (nuts and potato chips). I believe the bowling alley, Strikers, had some snacks, but it was so far away we didn't go. We were looking to eat something after the concerts, but had a difficult time finding anything open. Lack of food availability at all hours. At night it got a little cool and most of our days were overcast and windy, so a hot tub would have been nice to use. There are some spa areas as part of the pool that were only slightly warmer. We didn't get ocean view or anything, but glad we didn't because there wasn't much directly on the ocean. Although they didn't do the sake or vegetable catches that make hibachi fun. The Japanese hibachi was the best, very flavorful and comparable to what you would find in the States. I got the chicken mole and found it tasty, but parts of it were cold - like they made it in advance and didn't re-heat it all the way. The Mexican restaurant, Lindo, was pretty good. We ate at the Italian restaurant, Capri, it was ok. I had a difficult time finding anything that looked appealing at the buffet. Looked great for kids, I saw a few small waterparks, probably best for young children - Drinks were good and well made Cons: - For me the food was pretty bad. Awsesome hammocks all over for lounging were great as well. Pros: - Pool and Beach are gorgeous and chairs plentiful. This is good for pool and beach and dining options, but, be prepared to walk a lot. Let me start by saying this resort is huge! The largest I've stayed at by far.

My husband and I attended a series of weekend concerts on the grounds of the Barcelo Maya and stayed at the resort for convenience (other resorts were offered as part of the concert package).
